The General admission requirements into the University of Ghana, School of Pharmacy for the B. Pharm Degree Programme starts at Level 100.

Ghanaian Senior High School Students

Must meet the following West African Senior Secondary Certificate (WASSCE) results in requirements:

  1. Credit passes (grade C6) in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated Science),
  2. Credit passes (grade C6) in three Elective Subjects (Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics).

Foreign Students

Acceptable qualifications for foreign applicants include International Baccalaureate (IB), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), General Certificate of Education (GCE), the American Grades 12 and 13 examinations.

Other external qualifications, which is equivalent to the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate of Education (WASSCE) and the General Certificate of Education (GCE) is also be accepted.

School of Pharmacy:

School of Pharmacy was established in 2007 under the College of Health and Sciences at the University of Ghana (Legon).

The school offer courses leading to a recognized bachelor degree.

The school also has arrangements with prominent hospitals, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies for their student to have their clinical.

School of Pharmacy also has special collaborations with not just local institutions in Ghana in terms of health and science but also international institutions such as Howard University School of Pharmacy among others.

Level l00

Admission into Level 100 is from the Senior Secondary School with the WASSCE and SSSCE studies

Applicants with WASSCE must have credit passes in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated Science), and three Elective subjects (Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics), and a pass in core Social Studies.

Applicants with SSSCE must have a credit pass in English, Mathematics, Integrated Science and in three Elective subjects (Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics), and a pass in core Social Studies, with the total aggregate of 24 or better.

Level 200

Admission to Level 200 is open to applicants who hold bachelor’s degrees from relevant courses such as Chemistry, Biochemistry and Biological Sciences from a recognized institution.

Admission into Level 200 shall be reviewed by:.

  • Quality of the academic transcripts of the applicant
  • Outcome of an interview and/or entrance examination
  • Auditing some courses in the Level 100

Tuition Fees

Tuition fees depend on the program you choose at the university.

But on average, one can be expected to pay not less than GHC70, 000 per year for an undergraduate degree and not less than GHC64, 000 per year for postgraduate degree programmes respectively.
